Received A Great Letter Today...

...From SunTrust Mortgage. They are one of our lenders. We have worked with them since we started the business almost 10 years ago. They are the 15 largest bank holding company in the country.

Anyways, we received a letter from their President & CEO today thanking us for our loyalty and business. He says, "Our mutual success depends on quality Brokers like you." What's so cool about this is we learned that we are one of only 5 Brokers in the entire country to have received this personalized letter.

It's nice to be acknowledged for something we work so hard at (serving our clients like nobody else). We are here for you!

An Example of What We Deal With Everyday

You saw that we recently posted a video about how difficult it can be to get a mortgage. We thought this would be a funny, yet great example of the stupidity of what we have to put up with right now with lenders.

We have a couple purchasing a house. They both are Attorneys with the DA's office. She just (like in the last week) had a baby and is on full-pay maternity leave for 90 days. We have of course proven all of this and it was accepted by the lender. We received a few prior to closing conditions that were easy to clear. Then there was one that made us laugh, and grind our teeth all at the same time. It read, "Provide verification Borrower has had her baby and all is well, i.e. she is in good health and expected to return to work as scheduled." Are you kidding me!! How exactly would you like the proof? Our Processor, Brian, called and asked them if sending them some Placenta cookies would suffice.

For fun, this is what we sent them. Hopefully they accept it. :-D

Welcome Back

We have a lot of fun at our office, and it has quickly become a tradition with some of us to "welcome" someone back from a trip by doing something obnoxious to their office.

Recently I ordered some new business cards for one of our Loan Officers. It has also become a "tradition" in our office that anytime I order business cards I "wait" to catch an error on at least one of the card orders after they are all printed. I was gone last week at a conference and this was my welcome back, using a box of the wrong business cards I had ordered...

Real Service

We talk with clients often about the inward reality vs. the outward perception. Simply put, this is the tension between what you say you are vs. who you really are. So for a business, if I say that I have the best service in town then what are the things internally that will consistantly deliver to that end. This is something sorely lacking in our industry as lenders constantly over promise and under deliver.
We received a quick thanks from a client today and were compelled to share it. We have created many internal systems that ensure we over deliver. Plus, we just have an amazing team of people whose desire is truley to serve. We are here for you and anybody you may know needing a mortgage.

My husband and I wanted to thank you for your excellence in processing all of our loan documents especially considering the time constraints. Thank you and your lovely wife for the bread. We had some this morning and it was so delicious.
Thank you and Kimberly also for all that you do and we will certainly refer you to our friends and neighbors for their home mortgage needs.

Kiplinger's: 10 Best Places to Live and Work. Where’s the best place to hide during this economic downturn?
Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine evaluated U.S. cities for their growth potential, analyzing their ability to hold onto jobs even if the economy softens further.

With assistance from Kevin Stolarick of Martin Prosperity Institute, the magazine concluded that cities where there are a lot of white- collar jobs are surviving the downturn better than areas where much of the workforce is employed in manufacturing or service jobs.

Stolarick says these creative-class jobs tend to help generate new businesses and that increases the vibrancy of the areas where they hold sway.

This employment analysis combined with data about income growth and cost of living led Kiplinger’s to choose these 10 cities as the best places to live and work in today’s challenging economy:

I wish to clarify that I am not now, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer. I work at Home Depot and I told Sarah how hectic it was last week before the blizzard hit. I told her we sold out every single shovel we had. Then I found one more in the back room, and several people were fighting over who would get it. Sarah ' s picture does NOT show me dancing around a pole. It ' s supposed to depict me selling the last snow shovel we had at Home Depot.
